Program Description

Educators from the UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy will coordinate CPE discussions at each table on the topics referenced in the title.

At the end of this presentation pharmacists and pharmacy technicians should be able to:

PrEP for Zero. Zero new HIV Transmission, zero barriers to care, zero stigma. &
Time for a PEP Talk. A Guide to Prescribing HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis.

At the conclusion of this program, the pharmacist will be able to:

1.Describe the role of pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP) in reducing HIV transmission.

2.Discuss the role a pharmacist plays in offering HIV PrEP and HIV PEP to patients.

 

At the conclusion of this program, the technician will be able to:

1.Describe the role of pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP) in reducing HIV transmission.

2.Discuss the role a pharmacy technician plays in offering HIV PrEP, HIV PEP to patients.

1. Describe the 5 P’s approach to evaluate sexual history and guide screening, and screening recommendations.

2. Discuss the role a pharmacist plays in offering treatment and expedited partner therapy to patients.

At the conclusion of this program, the technician will be able to:
