Program Description
The care for diabetes patients has greatly evolved in the last few years. We will discuss the cardiovascular impact of being diagnosed with diabetes, the newer novel diabetes treatments, and developing a treatment plan for diabetes patients.
Pharmacist Program Objectives
At the conclusion of the program, the pharmacist will be able to:
1. Understand the rationale for studying cardiovascular outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes.
2. Recognize landmark trials that contributed to cardiovascular safety and outcomes in diabetes care.
3. Identify the potential benefits and safety concerns affiliated with novel diabetes medications.
4. Develop a diabetes treatment plan based on patient and drug characteristics.
Pharmacy Technician Program Objectives
At the conclusion of the program, the pharmacy technician will be able to:
